Billionhappy & Ninajirachi

BiBi

“BiBi” is the iconic collaboration between the leader of China’s Nu Underground revolution, Billionhappy, and Hyper-EDM queen, Ninajirachi.

Fresh from a collaborative China tour in December 2024, the track was born straight from the club in Shanghai. The track is accompanied by a golden era millennial style music video, shot by Billionhappy himself with an iPhone, bringing us all back to the nostalgia vibe of the 2000s.

For Ninajirachi, “BiBi” kicks off a massive album campaign featuring collaborations with the likes of Alison Wonderland and daine (3 singles leading into the release of “Good Day Nina” in August 2025), and straight off a support slot for Porter Robinson and an Umru x Ninajirachi North American Tour.

In parallel, 2025 marks a Nu Revolution for Billionhappy. “BiBi” follows the momentum of standout single, 鬼火2义薄云, which has marked his claim as the leader of the Nu China Underground. “BiBi” precedes his EP《屌》(a campaign featuring 2 singles leading into the release of the EP on 30 May), followed by a 4-city Headline tour in China.

The song revolves around themes of emotional conflict, frustration, and disillusionment with love. The narrator expresses a desire to distance themselves from someone, particularly when it rains, symbolizing a mood of sadness or negativity. The repeated refrain of "下着雨不想听" ("I don't want to listen in the rain") emphasizes the rejection of emotional noise or fake affection, especially when the other person repeatedly talks or complains ("bibi").

There’s an acknowledgment of love’s darker side, with the narrator suggesting that any expression of love might be insincere ("如果我说我爱你,那一定是我在放屁" - "If I say I love you, then I’m definitely lying"). They also reflect on the contradictory emotions that arise when the person is both absent and present—feeling pain regardless of their presence.

Later, the song transitions into frustration, telling the other person to "shut up" and leave if they don't care, and asserting that love can't be forced or repeated. Ultimately, the narrator rejects the idea of continuing a toxic, painful relationship.

The song’s tone is one of emotional struggle, where love feels suffocating and the narrator is trying to break free from the cycle of pain.
