LVRA

Soft like Steel.

LVRA is anger & catharsis. Drawing from the molten core of industrial, hyperpop and deconstructed club music to crystallise a sound that’s equally suited to the stadium as the basement.

soft like steel

‘soft like steel’, a project of warped weapons cutting through the Margins of club & pop music. One of understanding, cleansing, re-learning and ultimate re-birth into a version of myself with renewed perceptions, ideas, and an openness to the new.

LOOK

LOOK

Anger, anxiety and absolution combine in ‘LOOK’. Built on top of a propulsive club chassis, ‘LOOK’ reaches for catharsis, using those same doubts as ammunition to destroy every anxiety until there’s nobody left but oneself.

Fortress

Fortress

Chinese-Scottish born experimental artist LVRA (Sound of Young Scotland Winner 2021) and Hong Kong-British, Berlin-based electronic producer Soda Plains team up for a spellbinding sonic journey in their new ethereal project Fortress - the first EP release since LVRA’s electrifying Soft Like Steel in 2023.

Fresh from a NME100 award as “Essential Emerging Artist”, “Fortress” is a project that sees the birth of a fresh direction for both LVRA & Soda Plains. Accompanied by a headline show on 21 May at Ormside Projects and a showcase on 2 June at SXSW London, this EP sees the pair traverse drone, ambient into a  dizzying blend of experimental pop.

In their words: ‘We just wanted to make music that we liked - something we felt like was increasingly hard to do in the current climate. Collaborating together helped us to capture some of that tension in a format that felt unbounded. Separately we’d absorbed a lot of thoughts between our own solo projects about ways to write, ways to live - so we closed ourselves off for a few days to write in Berlin and made the demos for ‘Fortress’. Whilst the studio is our place of safety, we continue to push for freedom in it.
